TimeSolv Version 20240823 Feature Updates & Bug Fixes

Release Date: August 23, 2024

  1. Enhancement – Billing History Screen Updates
Users can now access their ChargeBee billing history through the ‘Billing History’ tab under ‘Our Account’ section. A notification will inform customers that the displayed payment details are up to a certain date (e.g. June 30, 2024), and prompt them to visit the Billing Portal for more recent payments. For firms without billing history in TimeSolv at the switchover date, the message will direct them to the Billing Portal to access their billing information. This update ensures a seamless transition for users to view their billing records.
  2. Enhancement – Report Generation Disabled on Initial Load for Revenue and Commission Reports
When opening the Revenue and Commission Reports with a default bookmark, the report would previously generate data automatically. This behaviour has been changed. Now, the report will only generate after users select parameters and click “Generate.” On initial load, only the report header will appear, ensuring no data is shown until manual input. This update does not affect existing bookmarks.
  3. Bug – Scheduled Reports Not Displaying Under ‘Manage Schedule’ Section Fixed
An issue was reported where scheduled reports were not appearing under the ‘Manage Schedule’ section despite being set up correctly. The issue has been resolved by adjusting the logic for completed reports, ensuring that scheduled reports now display as expected under the ‘Manage Schedule’ section.
  4. Bug – Aged Invoices Report – Data Discrepancy Resolved
A customer reported a discrepancy in the totals shown in the new format of the Aged Invoices report. The issue was caused due to the new report not including the opening balance. This has been fixed, and the opening balances are now accurately reflected in the new report format.
  5. Bug – Sorting Issue Fixed for Different Grouping Options in Time & Expense Entries ReportĀ
QA team identified that the sorting functionality in the “Time & Expense Entries” Report was not working correctly when different grouping filters were applied. This issue has now been resolved, ensuring that sorting works properly across all columns and tables, regardless of the grouping options selected.
  6. Bug – Restriction Enforced on Invoice Creation for Users with “Access to Assigned Cases Only”
Previously, users with the “Access to Assigned Cases Only” permission could create draft invoices for clients not assigned to them. This issue has been resolved, ensuring that such users can now only generate invoices for their assigned clients or matters. Admin users remain unaffected, and all other invoicing, time, and expense functionalities continue to work as expected.
  7. Bug – Invalid Date Format Fixed in Revenue Report for Fixed Fee Invoices
An issue was identified by QA team in the Revenue Report where the date “1900-01-01” was incorrectly displayed for Fixed Fee invoices. This has been corrected, and now the correct date is shown in the same row as the associated data, similar to how descriptions and internal notes are displayed on the Time Entry screen.
  8. Bug – Footer Grouping Colors updated in Timekeeper Profitability Report
An issue, identified internally by QA team, in the Timekeeper Profitability Report was causing mismatched groupings between the header and footer, where four groups were displayed in the header but only three in the footer. After investigation, it was found that the data was grouped at the project level, explaining the missing group. The footer colors have been updated to match the corresponding header groups, resolving the visual inconsistency.
  9. Bug – Unwanted Gap Removed from Realization Per Client Report PDF
An issue was identified by QA team in the “Realization Per Client” report, where an unwanted gap appeared in the exported PDF version but not in the on-screen preview. This gap has been resolved by adjusting the backend settings in the exported cells, ensuring the PDF matches the expected format without any unnecessary spacing.
