TimeSolv Version 20240114 Feature Updates & Bug Fixes

Release Date: January 14, 2024

  1. Enhancement – Budget Access Permissions Made Consistent on Both the Timekeeper’s Permissions Tab and the Matters Tab
Under the Timekeeper’s Permissions > Matters tab, Budget Access permissions have been improved to list the options in the same way as shown by the dropdown list under the Timekeeper’s Permissions screen. Also, on this screen, the Budget Access visibility, which was previously linked to Plan Tasks, has been removed and the Budgets can be created without the need to create Plan Tasks first.
  2. Enhancement – Improved the Visibility for the Term “Trust” When Using Custom Labels
With this improvement, the user-defined label for the term “Trust” now appears in other places also, e.g., in the Invoice Balance section, Replenishments and Replenishment label, Transactions, Statements, etc. This change will be reflected throughout the Invoice and not just for the line item that shows the Trust Balance as was done previously.
  3. Enhancement – Improved the Loading Time for the Time Analytics’ Target vs Billable Chart
In this enhancement, performance improvements have been made on the Time Analytics’ Target vs Billable chart for quicker loading.
  4. Enhancement – Ability to Bookmark New Reports and Save User’s Parameter Selections
The New Reports have been enhanced to allow the Reports to be bookmarked. Users can create several bookmarks, each with a different set of parameters. This feature allows the logged-in user’s preferences to persist and do not affect other user’s bookmarks.
  5. Enhancement – Displaying the “Revenue” or the “Revenue & Commissions” Report Based on the Enable Commissions Settings
If the Firm does not have commissions enabled, i.e., the “Enable Commissions?” checkbox is unchecked on the Account>Settings screen, then the Revenue report is shown for the Firm. If the commissions are enabled, then the Revenue & Commissions report is displayed.
  6. Enhancement – “Include Inactive” Checkboxes Added on the New Reports
On the following New Reports, the “Include Inactive” checkboxes have been added to the parameters where applicable. By default, these checkboxes will be unchecked:

    1. Revenue and Commissions
    2. Budget
    3. Firm Performance
    4. Resource Allocation
    5. Time Budget
    6. Client Rankings
    7. Time Entry Summary
    8. Timekeepers and Rates
    9. Tax Listing
  7. Bug – LEDES Copy of the Invoice Not Getting Attached in the Invoice Emails
Many customers reported that they had not received LEDES copy of the Invoice in their emails. In the invoice settings, the Invoice Delivery Method was correctly set to receive Invoices in the LEDES format. This has been fixed by improving the logic to ensure LEDES format is also attached in emails.
  8. Bug – The Matters Tab on the Client Details Screen Not Showing Inactive Matters
During internal testing it was found that when a Matter is marked as inactive, only the active Matters showed up under the Client Details> Matters tab. This has been fixed and inactive Matters are also visible.
  9. Bug – Request Payment Method’s Search Showing Incorrect Results When Selecting “Yes”
During internal testing it was found that the search filter on the TimeSolvPay>Request Payment Method screen was not displaying correct results if the “Yes” option was selected from the dropdown. In the results, the Requested methods were also being displayed. This has been fixed so that, with Yes selected, only those Clients who have Payment Method saved are shown.
  10. Bug – CC/ACH Payment Options Shown on the Client Portal for Payments Configured to be Received in a Trust Account
It was internally identified that the CC/ACH payment options were visible on the Client Portal screen even when the Trust Account was selected from the “Receive All Portal Invoice Payments In” dropdown on the Client Detail’s Settings. This has been fixed so that if a Trust Account is set up to receive payments, CC/ACH options are not displayed.
  11. Bug – Internal Notes Were Not Showing Up When Viewing the Expense Entry’s Details
During internal testing it was observed that when editing an Expense Entry in a Draft Invoice and editing the Internal Notes, the Notes did not show up in the Expense Entry Detail’s preview popup. They were only visible when the “Update Original Expense Entry as well” was checked when an entry was edited. This has been fixed so that when the user clicks on the paper icon to view details, the Notes are shown in the popup.
  12. Bug – On the Payments & Credits Screen, When Creating a Payment Using the Payment Method on File, the Notes Added by User Getting Replaced
It was internally identified that when a Payment was created using ACH or CC on File method from the Payments & Credits screen, the message in the “Notes” field for the generated Payment would get replaced by “Via TimeSolvPay.” This has been fixed so that the message in the note is not replaced.
  13. Bug – Validation Message Displays HTML Code When Copying/Moving an Expense Entry
It was internally identified that when a user copies or moves an Expense Entry, the validation message displayed contained the HTML code. This has been fixed so that a proper message without the HTML code is displayed.
  14. Bug – Buttons Disappear from View on Time Entry Screen on Expanding Internal Notes Field
It was internally identified that on the Time Entry screen, when the Internal Notes field was expanded, the Update and Cancel buttons at the bottom were pushed down the screen and were not visible. This behavior has been fixed on the Time Search, Approve Time, Recurring Time, Expense Search, and the Approve Expense screens.
  15. Bug – Financial Dashboard’s Top Metrics’ Data Disappears on Active/Inactive Matter Selection
During internal testing, it was found that on the Financial Dashboard’s Top Metrics, selecting active and inactive Matters against a Client and hitting the Apply button would sometimes remove the data. All the inactive Matters in the Matter’s dropdown would also disappear. Additionally, some of the Charts below would also show up empty. This anomaly has been fixed.
  16. Bug – On the Financial Dashboard’s Top Debtor Chart, Drill-down View Displaying Invoices for All the Matters on Selecting Specific Matters
During internal testing, it was found that when specific Matters were selected against a Client, the Financial Dashboard’s Top Debtor chart displayed Invoices and Balances of selected Matters, but in the chart’s tabular drill-down view, Invoices for all the Matters were listed. This has been fixed.
  17. Bug – Financial Dashboard’s Top Client Chart Displaying Incorrect Values for Accounts Receivable
It was internally identified that on the Financial Dashboard’s Top Client chart, the drill-down view did not show the correct values when selecting Accounts Receivable from the dropdown. This has been fixed, and the correct amount is displayed.
  18. Bug – Timekeeper Selection Not Persisting on Financial Dashboard’s Top Timekeeper Charts
It was internally identified that on the Financial Dashboard’s Top Timekeeper chart when a specific Timekeeper was selected from the chart’s dropdown, the Timekeeper selection was not persisted on navigating away and then returning to the Dashboard screen. This has been fixed, and the selected Timekeeper is shown as persisted even after the user logs off or logs in again.
  19. Bug – Incorrect Amount Shown on the Financial Dashboard’s Top Timekeeper Chart on Selecting Accounts Receivable
It was internally identified that when selecting the Accounts Receivable from the Financial Dashboard’s Top Timekeeper chart, the AR amounts were not showing up correctly. This was observed on both the first and the second drill down view. This has been fixed and the AR amounts show up correctly.
  20. Bug – Financial Dashboard’s Metrices Displaying Error When Processing Large Dataset
It was internally identified that for firms that had a large dataset, a Proxy error was shown on the Financial Dashboard’s Metrices. This has been fixed by improving the queries to handle large data.
  21. Bug – Negative WIP Amount Displayed on Financial Dashboard’s Top Timekeeper Chart
It was internally identified that negative WIP amounts were not showing up in the WIP view of the Financial Dashboard’s Top Timekeeper chart. It was also observed that the Expense WIP amounts, which did not have Timekeepers associated with them, were not showing up in the second tabular drill down view. These issues have been fixed.
  22. Bug – Issues Fixed in the Drill-down View on Financial Dashboard’s Top Timekeeper Chart
On the Financial Dashboard’s Top Timekeeper chart, the following issues have been fixed in the drill-down view when Accounts Receivable was selected from the drop-down:

    1. Accounts Receivables was displaying only 5 entries on first and second drill-down levels. This has been fixed to show all AR which are greater than “0.”
    2. Negative Time was appearing in the second drill-down view.
    3. If the Timekeeper had Time Entries in different Matters, the invoices were showing up against the wrong Matter. Invoices are now shown against the selected the Matter.
    4. The AR amount was not visible completely. A horizontal scroll has been added for values that do not fit in view.
    5. TimeSolvPay Payments did not show up in the drill-down view.
  23. Bug – UI Issues Fixed on the Financial Dashboard
The following UI issues were fixed on the Financial Dashboard:

    1. Alignment of “Include Inactive” checkboxes and field labels fixed.
    2. On smaller resolutions, the “Apply” button was not visible.
    3. On the Zero AR chart, vertical scrollbars were being shown for the “Invoices Charged” and “Amount Collected” legends.
    4. Low resolution systems did not show all the columns on the Data Table. Fixed by adding a horizontal scroll bar.
  24. Bug – On the Client Dashboard, Client and Timekeepers with Lengthy Names Not Displayed Completely in the Dropdowns
It was internally identified that on the Client Dashboard, the dropdown was not showing the complete names for those Clients and Timekeepers who had lengthy names. This has been fixed by applying wrapping in the dropdown list to show the complete names.
