TimeSolv Version 20231231 Feature Updates & Bug Fixes

1. Enhancement – Permissions Enhanced to Allow the Same Timekeeper to be Assigned to Multiple Users 

Under the Timekeeper Permissions, when selecting the “For Own and Specific Timekeepers” option has been enhanced to allow the same Timekeeper to be assigned to other Support users/Timekeepers.

2. Enhancement – Payments on File Chart Added to the Financial Dashboard

On the Financial Dashboard, a “Payment on File” chart has been added. This chart only displays information for TimeSolvPay customers. If a Firm does not have any TimeSolvPay Merchant Account, a message is displayed, and the user is taken to the TimeSolvPay signup screen.

3. Enhancement – Option on the New Time Entries Report to Display Internal Notes

The New Time Entries Report has been enhanced to show the edited Internal Notes when the user edits a Time Entry of a Draft Invoice. The edited notes are displayed when the user opts to select “Current Values” from the “View” filter.

Selecting “Original Values” shows Internal Notes originally entered during the Time Entry creation.

4. Enhancement – Headings for Each Section Added to the New Client Rankings Report

The New Client Rankings report has been improved to show results in respective sections with appropriate headings according to the selected checkboxes on the filters.

5. Enhancement – The New Reports Have Been Improved to Reduce the Report’s Loading Time

Performance improvements have been introduced to the New Reports to allow reports to load quickly.

6. Enhancement – New Reports Released

The following New Reports have been released:

  1. Performance > Firm Performance
  2. Performance > Fees Budget
  3. Performance > Client Rankings
  4. Managing Matters > Resource Allocation
  5. Managing Matters > Budget
  6. Managing the Firm > Task Codes

7. Bug – Invoices and Statements Were Not Getting Sent for Customers Using Gmail

Many customers reported that their Invoices and Statements were not getting through to clients who were using Gmail email addresses or used Gmail service for their corporate emails. This has been fixed by enhancing our email sending logic to cater to customers who use Gmail email addresses or Gmail’s service.

8. Bug – Error When Creating Matters from the Clients Screen

Multiple customers reported that they were getting an internal server error intermittently when they tried to create a Matter from the Client screen. This has been fixed and the error does not appear.

9. Bug – The System Sometimes Gives an Error When Changing the Rate from Time Settings

One of the customers reported that when they tried to change the Rate at the Matter level from the Time Setting’s Rate Change tab. The system would take some time and then return an error. This has been fixed.

10. Bug – On the Payment Screen, the Transfer Link’s Popup was Showing the Time Entry Screen

It was internally reported that for Firms that had Trust Accounting disabled, transferring a Payment from Payment’s screen using the down arrow against the line item, the Transfer link would open the popup displaying the Time Entry screen. This has been fixed and now, the Transfer option is not available for firms with Trust Accounting turned off.

11. Bug – Time Search’s Timekeeper Dropdown Not Displaying Items When Selecting “Include Inactive”

It was internally identified that when the “Include Inactive” checkbox for Timekeepers was checked on the Time>Time Search screen, the dropdown did not list any Timekeepers. This has been fixed so that all the Timekeepers are displayed, including the inactive ones.

12. Bug – Financial Dashboard’s Top Client Chart Displaying Amounts and Fees for Clients with Fully Paid Invoices

During internal testing, it found that when the user drilled down to Client>Matter>Invoices on the Financial Dashboard’s Top Client chart, it showed invoices with amounts and fees even though all the invoices for the selected Client were fully paid. This has been fixed so that amounts and fees are not shown in the drill-down view.

13. Bug – Staff Dashboard’s Utilization Rate Chart Gets Affected on Selecting Large Dataset

It was internally identified that the UI on the Staff Dashboard’s Utilization Rate chart gets affected when large amount of data was selected. This has been fixed.

14. Bug – When User Changes the Terminology, the Change is Not Reflected the On Dashboards

It was internally identified that when changing the terminology from the Clients and Matters>Settings, the changed labels were not shown on the Staff, Client and the Financial Dashboards. The change was only reflected after the user logged-off and logged in again. This has been fixed.

15. Bug – Client Dashboard’s Client Dropdown Displaying Message Even When the Listing Has Less than 250 Items

It was internally identified that on the Client Dashboard’s Client dropdown, if the listing was less than 250 entries, it still showed “Showing first 250 entries.” This has been fixed.

16. Bug – UI Issues Fixed on Client Dashboard’s Active Matters Without Activity Chart

It was internally identified that the Active Matters without Activity chart on the Client Dashboard was not showing up like the other charts and had alignment issues. The chart has been fixed.

17. Bug – “Client-Matters (Includes Inactive)” Visible on the New Time Entries Report’s Footer

It was internally identified that “Client-Matter (Includes Inactive)” was visible on the Time Entries report’s footer when the “Include Inactive” checkbox is unchecked for the Client-Matter drop-down. This has been fixed.

18. Bug – The Include Active/Inactive Was Not Displayed in the Footer on the New Time and Expense Entries Report

It was internally identified that on the New Time and Expense Entries Report, the “Include Active” and “Include Inactive” were not showing up in the report’s footer when the selection parameter’s respective checkboxes were checked. This has been fixed.

19. Bug – Staff Dashboard’s Top Timekeeper Chart Not Displaying Top/Bottom 5 When the “All” Option was Selected

It was internally reported that on the Staff Dashboard’s Top Timekeeper chart, if the “All” option was selected from the Timekeeper dropdown, the chart only listed one Timekeeper and not the top 5 or bottom 5 Timekeepers. This has been fixed.

20. Bug – Firefox Browser Giving Browser Alerts on All Dashboards

During internal testing it was identified that on Firefox browser, browser alerts to resend information show up as soon as the user clicks the Apply button. This has been fixed.
