Specifying Sync Setting for Service Items (Task Codes)

Purpose & Benefit: QuickBooks is a staple of small business. Millions use the software for their accounting and billing needs. QuickBooks has plenty of valuable accounting tools, so we have created a platform that seamlessly integrates with QuickBooks, allowing your firm to benefit from its accounting tools, while utilizing TimeSolv’s efficient time tracking and billing systems.


For QuickBooks Desktop:



  • Select the Service Items node:

  • Select the Sync Service Items checkbox. QuickBooks Service Items (Task Codes) can be transferred to and from TimeSolv. Please note that all active and inactive Service Items (Task Codes) are synced over, as they may be referred to by subsequent transactions.


  • Select the source you want QuickBooks Sync to pull the Service Items from, either TimeSolv or QuickBooks.

For QuickBooks Online:

To sync Service Items (Task Codes and Expense codes) between TimeSolv and QuickBooks, follow these steps:

  • Select the Service Items node


  • Enable the Sync Task Codes check box.


  • Select TimeSolv or QuickBooks from the Source drop down.


  • Enable the Sync Expense Codes check box.


  • Select TimeSolv or QuickBooks from the Source drop down.


  • Please note, if you have Expense Entries turned on for QuickBooks Sync, the Expense Codes option will be selected and greyed out, so cannot be unchecked. To uncheck it, you will first have to disable the Expense Entries checkbox by clicking on the Expense Entries node.


  • Click the Save button to save the information.
